Why should you join an online community, group or network?  There are many reasons why one would join an online community group or network, but the most important reason — Bird that flock together …  Communities, groups and networks are usually formed by people of liked minds — great for kicking around some ideas, or generating revenue you couldn’t by yourself.  Therefore, user generated content is king!  Did you know — User generated content will top 238 billion this year?  Just think if a small portion of that user generated content was on your blog (Google would love you — You would love you).

Stats suggest, community, group, or network members often since over 20 hour per/week on the group site.  Best of all, if you are the site administrator you can sub-divided the group by topics.  I recently started a blogging group called “The Best Bloggers Group On The Net“, which is free to join.  My hopes for the group is for us to blog and increase our individuals ad revenue.  The site is set-up to take a single post and either “link it”, “submit it”, or “view it” from 10 different location — and the network is growing.

Is the economy at fault?  Monday, Circuit City became another sign that the economy is bad — especially because Circuit City is one of the largest electronic retailers. According to reports Circuit City has 712 stores and 9 outlets, however last week they announced they will be closing 155 stores and laying off 17% of its staff.

Circuit City’sgoal is to make it to the holiday season.  They currently report 3.4 billion in assets and 2.3 billion in debts.  So what is Chapter 11?  Chapter 11 bankruptcy is a reorganization of assets which allow the filer to continue doing business.  Many companies use Chapter 11 as a way to become profitable again.

Did American IT Services Just Win The Vote?

Outsourcing IT Services to India has been a hot debated topic for a long time.  However the market has spoken…  Shares in outsourcing companies like TATA and Wipro have been dropping due to the likelihood of a democratic win.  Why?  Many believe new legislation will be passed to forced companies to cut back on how much work they send/spend overseas (outsource).  Expert are reading into the pledged to include labor standards in free trade agreements to help American companies to compete.

Outsourcing as a whole has already suffered from the current economy state.  However, outsourcing overseas seem to be preparing for a bigger hit.  Some believe it’s all over active anxiety at work, that no sudden changes are expected.  If new legislation turns out to be in the works maybe small outsourcing vendors in the USA will benefit.

The FCC just open the door to “WHITE SPACE“.  What is white space and what can it do for you?  White space is unused airwaves, and this vote just enable WI-FI to go on steroid mode.  Side note — it only took six years.  However, (back to the facts) now since the FCChas open this public space — companies like GOOGLE will be able offer better Internet services and companies like Verizon can offer faster Internet connections AT A CHEAP PRICE. 

This vote also opens the door to thousand of entrepreneur’s great services and products to come…  WI-FI will benefit because white space have a greater range than we know today.  To be more tech — broadband can be spread using fewer base station.  Included in the vote is the adaptation of the same unlicensed used for WI-FI which will result (approx) 1 billion WI-FI chips.

BlogRush is shutting down.  If you have the widget on your site you should remove it.  Until you remove the widget there will be a blank (empty spot) where the widget was located.  So why did BlogRush decide to shut down?  First let rewind the hand of time — BlogRush began in late 2007.  During the first year over 3.4 billion blogs either post headlines about the service or used the service.  Remember the BlogRush services (including widget) was free.  However BlogRush had its problems.  Most of the problems were security matters and abusive from users trying to game the system.  Nevertheless, these problems along with other cause to service to not reach its full potential or initial goals.  However the biggest problem (My Opinion) — BlogRush never made a penny.  Why?  BlogRush never monetize the service with ads or affiliate links and the service was free to its users, which equal zero dollars.  In the shut down note to its users, BlogRush claims that they have had several offers for acquisition and have chosen not to go that route.  (Must be nice).  But the exact quote is “it’s not always about money“.

However the BlogRush team say “THANK YOU” to all of the great bloggers that at least gave BlogRush a chance.  And I say, “no, Thank You”.

What Is Trojan-Spy.Win32.GreenScreen?  It’s spyware that is used by hackers causing pop-ups and false security alerts.  Trojan-Spy.Win32.Greenscreen captures images from your computer which is accessible by the hackers who created this spyware.  The spyware however, is used mostly to get you to buy an anti-spyware program from the hacker.

Steps to Manually Remove Trojan-Spy.Win32.Greenscreen

• You will have to do the following steps the same day you got infected
• Log-Off your computer and select restart
• Restart in safe-mode by hitting F8 upon start-up
• Go to the start menu –> select run –> type “C:\windows\system32″ sort files by date
• Find today’s date or the date you were infected and delect all files with that date (make sure you can see your hidden files)
• Go to start menu –> select accessories –> select clean disk
• Go to start menu –> select control panel –> select internet tools and delete all history and temporary internet files
• Go to accessories –> select system tools –> select restore
• Restore to the first date you were not infected
• Once the restore process is completed and you system has restarted –> Your Done! Your system could be back to normal
• To double check that your system is rid of the trojan-spy.win32.greenscreen go to the start menu –> select run –> type “taskmgr.exe” if the window appear your trojan infected is gone

Symptoms of Trojan-Spy.Win32.Greenscreen

1. You will not be able to access your task manager (taskmgr.exe) — you will get a system error
2. You can not deleted the infected files until you are in “safe mode”
3. There a red/white X in the task bar, which keeps alerting you that your system is infected

Watchdog companies have been going undercover to see how well national computer repair companies fair.  The answer is not good.  Below is a video that shows the problems.  One major problem, most of the repair techs try selling a new computer unit versus diagnosing the problems.
